1) Fly 4h40mn to El Nido via Manila or Cebu

2) Drive 30mn to Nacpan Beach

About the place:

Palawan is not the first name that comes in mind when talking about surfing in the Philippines. And yet the northern tip of the island exposed to the South China Sea receives good surf. Waves are bigger from October to February.

LA UNION

 

Surf season: year-round.

Best time:

October to April (more consistent)

 

Break type: Beach and reef breaks.

Going there from Singapore:

1) Fly 3h40mn direct to Manila

2) Drive 5 hours to San Juan Beach

 

About the place:

The beaches around La Union and further to the north offer good surf year-round. It enjoys a relatively fair accessibility as it is reached by car on the same island as Manila Airport.

ZAMBALES

 

Surf season: year-round.

Best time:

April to September (more consistent)

 

Break type: Mainly reef breaks.

Going there from Singapore:

1) Fly 3h40mn direct to Manila

2) 3 hours to San Narciso

About the place:

Zambales area offers friendly waves to surfers of all abilities. Given the short distance to Manila, crowd may be expected.

PADUGPUD

Best time:

October to April (more consistent)

 

Break type: Beach and reef breaks.

Going there from Singapore:

1) Fly 4h40mn to Laoag via Manila

2) Drive 2 hours to Pagudpud

About the place:

Located in the far north of Philippines, Padugpud is one the last destinations offering a real surf trip adventure where uncrowded waves await. There is an option to go by car all the way from Manila, but the 10 hours drive better be saved for more surfing time.
